The Branch Line Stone Engine House is a plastic-injection molded structure kit.
This structure kit comes into the Rail-Scale-Models product line-up as part of the acquisition of the Railway Design Associates structure kit business.
The Branch Line Stone Engine House structure kit depicts a small 1-bay engine house and service facility found in a variety of locations across the country. It can depict a service facility in an urban setting or a remote, backwoods setting. Modeled of a cut stone structure, it can add unique character to your layout.
The Branch Line Engine House kit has been completely refreshed within the Rail-Scale-Models product line. It comes with the traditional injection-molded stone wall components and details sprue that includes many detail items such as a freight dock, stair cases, roof exhausts, a boiler assembly, barrels, etc.
The kit includes a brand new set of laser-cut components - including a newly-designed interior wall assembly to divide the engine bay area from the workshop side of the facility. The interior wall includes sliding freight door details and an interior framing structure. The kit also includes a newly designed set of laser-cut roof cards, a laser-cut roof-top clerestory structure, a newly-designed set of laser-cut window and door assemblies with pre-cut acetate window glazing, exterior freight dock assemblies, as well as a roof-top water tank structure. The kit includes a bundle of scale stripwood and styrene strip material for all bracing and details of the structure.
The kit also includes several new detail drawings to assist with assembly. In addition, the kit includes a brand new, comprehensive set of assembly instructions to guide the modeler through structure planning, assembly, painting, and weathering. The instruction booklet includes many photos and images to assist with construction.
For those familiar with the RDA structures, you’re familiar with the fine detail of the injection-molded components; complimenting those with a new set of laser-cut components and refreshed assembly instructions, this structure kit becomes a brand new offering to the modeling community.
