These laser-cut Real Wood Shake Shingles are produced on 6.25" x 4.0" sheets of real wood veneer. Each sheet includes adhesive backing for easy application - just peel and stick.
The Random Cut design means each shake is a slightly different length and width to model variation of real shake shingles.
The shakes give a reveal of approximately 0.25" long (scaled 21.5" of exposed shingle on each layer).
These shingles can be stained with a wood stain or an alcohol/India ink solution, the shingles take on a nice aged appearance - use a bit more, get more aging - it's up to you.
It is best to seal the finished result to prevent warping and/or shrinkage from temperature and humidity changes.
Each sheet includes starter strips and ridge caps strip.
NOTE: The package contains sheets of laser-cut strips of shingles that need to be layered up - just like real shingles. These are not pre-layered sheets.
Shingles are laser-cut from a thin wood veneer. Material measures approximately 0.022" thick.
Do take care when removing the self-adhesive backing and installing the shingles, as they can be a bit fragile... but the result will be worth the careful effort.
Below is an example of a similar real wood shingle product on a small O scale model.

Each packet includes two (2) sheets measuring 6.25" long by 4" long - approximately 44 square inches of material. For Shingle strips, with a 50% overlap, each packet covers approximately 18 square inches of roofing area. For Starter strips and Ridge Cap strips, each packet covers approximately 24" in length and 12" in length, respectively.
These Shake Shingles can also be used for wall coverings to vary your buildings. They can be easily stained, and you can add various tones to simulate rotting or even previously painted shingles.
These Shingles are offered in real Cedar wood veneer - they'll make your scale model look great !
