Hap Hazard’s Hardware, Seed, & Feed is a laser-cut craftsman kit.
This craftsman kit comes into the Rail-Scale-Models product line-up as part of the recent acquisition of the Rusty Stumps Scale Models laser-cut craftsman kit business.
Hap Hazard’s is a three-story, four-room structure with a loading dock area for track or truck service. The building structure is intended to represent a hardward, seed, & feed business operating at any time frame during the 1900’s.
The hardware, seed, & feed store would carry just about anything needed at home or on the farm – such as hardware, paint, hand tools, gardening tools, wheelbarrows, powered equipment, work clothing, etc. It also carried a variety of seed, fertilizers, and chemical treatments for home and farm growing needs. …a one-stop shop for home and farm.
The structure may easily be converted into just about any type of business – such a tavern with a dance hall in the back, fish market, engine repair shop, etc. – user your imagination. The completed model is finished on all sides – making it easy to place anywhere on your layout and in any orientation. It may be placed in a country setting, a town setting, or even a waterfront locale. The kit includes pilings, braces, joists, and decking in stripwood; it includes a hydrocal stone foundation casting for the front building.
The model is constructed of laser cut sub-walls of 1/32" plywood which are laminated with basswood aged clapboard siding. This wall assembly technique, interlocking floors, and 1/32" plywood roof panels make for a sturdy structure that is not prone to warping.
